Yep, It's Another GDPR Statement
Don't worry, subscribers, this doesn't count toward your monthly articles.
So: The new European Union General Data Protection Regulation took effect on May 25, 2018. “Destroy Your Safe and Happy Lives” is a newsletter published by Ron Hogan, who’s based in New York City. The only personal data he collects is your email address, which he uses to send you these newsletters and occasionally remind you that you can hire him to edit your manuscripts, and he’s never going to sell or exchange those email addresses, individually or in aggregate.
If you’ve signed up for one of the paid subscriptions, which are managed through Substack—the platform on which I publish this newsletter—you’ll also be asked to provide your credit card information. I was going to add a link to Substack’s GDPR statement here, but I actually haven’t found it on their website yet. If I do find it at a later date, I’ll update this paragraph, but you might also ask them about it on your own.
If you would like to continue to receive this newsletter, just keep doing whatever you were doing before you read this note. If you would like to unsubscribe, just click on the “unsubscribe” link in any of the emails. I hope you’ll stick around, though!
